Over millions of years, the region of Chapada Diamantina, an ancient sedimentary basin, experienced successive layers of rocks overlapping and recording the passage of time. The constant weathering caused instability and disruptions in this previously settled mass – fissures, cracks, and crevices emerged, creating space for water and wind to infiltrate.
In a continuous and persistent progression, the core of this conglomerate is revealed. Amid fragility and collapse, new forms and lives emerge, transforming the exposed existence.
Inspired by the authenticity and elegance of this process, Jacqueline Terpins approaches her relationship with wood in an unprecedented way.
Arenito consists of two superimposed sets of marine plywood boards laminated in wood, their moving edges revealing their inner formation. Just as in erosion processes, where rocks embrace instability and empirically achieve balance, the boards stack misaligned in an organic arrangement.

Preguiça Bench | Ipê

The bench is a place of rest and it plays a game of intimacy since it always makes room for another. The joke here is with the sloth (“bicho-preguiça”) and the Preguiça Bench, contemplative and unhurried. It has a slender edge that highlights the seat’s suspension, supported on two thin bases, which depending on the angle, they almost disappear. It is an invitation to sit and be together.
Atabaque Stool

Play and creativity are inseparable. They both must go through the process of being rehearsed, tested, and seen in the same reality but from different angles.
The Atabaque stool is born from an elliptical geometric volume and its top is given a concave radius, bringing comfort when sitting and harmony to its lines.
Individually, its simple shape infers versatility while inviting one to a playful game of repetition. Juxtaposed, the stools form the Atabaques bench.
Through play, light heartedness and sense of humor emerge as resources of adaptation in different contexts.

Pedra is inspired by the pebbles that take shape from constant contact with water and assume organic curves. Based on these characteristics, the shape of the bench adapts to the curves of the body and combined with the choice of the solid wood it is an invitation to touch, to be together or to contemplate.

The Centopeia collection combines parallel plates of glass, creating interesting formal games, provoking the gaze in a combination of translucency and colors, more or less intense, by the overlapping of the material.
Its composition results in a unique and humorous element based on constructive simplicity and through the use of juxtaposed bases.
