Bamboo symbolizes various values in Japanese culture. In traditions, architecture, and religion, this element represents strength, resilience, flexibility, and, at the same time, purity.
Puro emerges from a solid mass of crystal, elongated and shaped by hand. The two elements meet in their malleability: bamboo bends with the wind without breaking, while crystal, in its liquid state, can be freely worked.
Inspired by its geometric form and aesthetic simplicity, Puro is a tribute made from crystal to bamboo.

On the island of Teshima, Japan, lies the Teshima Art Museum, a creation of artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa. A concave concrete structure with two elliptical openings at the top houses the installation Matrix: in this space, compositions of light and shadow, along with silence, invite contemplation. By attuning to the stillness, one can notice delicate water droplets emerging on the floor, slowly moving and elongating, like sculptures in constant transformation.
Jacqueline Terpins creates Teshima from this experience.
The flow of the droplets reflects our own existence. As they cease to be static volumes, move, and open themselves to structural change, they find spaces of possibility.

Quieto holds a silent invitation. Its curved, transparent, and welcoming form appears to be in a pause from movement. A piece that lightly touches the surface, a delicate presence that almost levitates. This contemplative form, in its simplicity, creates a fluid yet solid movement, opening space for encounter.

A solid, round mass of transparent crystal, Profundo is a study of space and perception. A single, fine perforation marks its center, creating an entryway into its depth. Seen from the front, it appears solid, with only a circular void interrupting its surface. From the side, the path through the crystal is revealed—the trajectory of emptiness within solidity. Positioned vertically or horizontally, it invites contemplation of what is revealed and what remains hidden.

Material: Blown crystal
Dimensions: 38 x 11,5 x h24 cm
With geometric solidity, Permanente anchors itself in space, lending concreteness to its stability. Inside the structure, however, the opening created by the breath introduces movement—a reverberation where fluidity meets solidity. This tension between permanence and transformation reminds us that even the most stable forms contain the seed of change.

Dimensions: I - 17 x 9 x h17 cm | II - 17 x 17 x h7 cm
A solid square of crystal, Imerso challenges perception. It features a single central perforation, offering a glimpse into its core. Whether in a vertical or horizontal position, it presents itself as an object of contemplation, an exploration of density, volume, and the way light interacts with space.

Material: Blown crystal
Dimensions: 34,5 x 12 x h26,5 cm
As a study in contrasts, Fugaz juxtaposes the weight of solid crystal with the ethereal presence of air. The opening in blown crystal—a breath captured—creates a subtle distortion, an echo of time shifting. Its rounded, almost floating form suggests ephemerality, a fleeting moment suspended in transparency. It occupies space yet remains light, reflecting the constant changes in its surroundings.

Através evokes the essence of passage, the thresholds between the internal and external, between presence and absence. Its delicate yet firm structure reflects the silent strength of columns that support sacred Japanese gateways. Its verticality suggests stability, while its open form invites movement—a silent invitation to cross the intangible.

Glass plates, shaped by heat, time, and gravity, Rumo echoes the meditative landscapes of Japanese rock gardens. Its fluid, organic shape suggests movement and stillness simultaneously. Each piece, in its uniqueness, invites contemplation—a path without a predetermined destination. With its transparency, the plates capture and distort images, offering infinite perspectives.

In Íntimo’s form, a great void represents the possibility of embrace. An organic shape, whose solid crystal structure suggests containment—a silent protection. The upper part, narrowing and rising asymmetrically, reveals its connection to the exterior, indicating the fusion of vulnerability with strength.

Simplicity, flexibility, and functionality are principles that permeate the interiors of traditional Japanese homes. Sliding partitions play an important role in space fluidity and configuration.
The Entrever Screen references these objects that, in motion, transform environments, redefine their functions, and create dynamic relationships between people and space.
In a geometric composition study, deeply present in Japanese architecture, solid and void balance within a single panel where juxtaposed and mirrored repetitions create a design in motion. Jacqueline Terpins subverts the original purpose of the screen, cutting wooden planes that reveal, in fragments, what would initially be hidden.

Silence and repetition find form in this coffee table. Its surface is marked by evenly spaced, empty lines that extend across the material, forming a structured yet discreet geometry. Delicate grooves bring texture—a tactile experience that honors craftsmanship and manual work. In its simplicity, Ritmo embodies the space between elements, the silent balance between presence and absence.

A bench where light and shadow weave a constantly changing pattern. Formed by evenly spaced wooden slats, its curved, organic lines flow in a continuous motion. The gaps between the wood allow light to pass through, projecting lines that interact with illumination, revealing new depths and perspectives. Solid and void, visible and invisible, exist in constant dialogue, making Luz e Sombra an experience of movement, time, and perception.

Dimensions: 140 x 90 x h30 cm
The Missô coffee table bridges aesthetics and practicality. Its continuous design appears to float, gently touching the ground and creating a sense of lightness. The simplicity of its form allows the raw material to take center stage. At the same time, its curved edges invite touch.

A single movement captured in wood. Traço is a stool that embodies fluidity—its hollow interior and curved lines suggest motion within stillness. As if drawn in a single continuous gesture, its mirrored forms convey a memory of action. Its solidity, however, offers both comfort and simplicity. Movement and rest are two sides of the same moment.
